Wolrd Cofederation of Billiard Sports will come for the council to Wroclaw in June. Members of the world pool, snooker and carom federations accepted the invitation from Marcin Krzeminski.
'Beside the current issues we would like to talk about World Games 2017. I asked the WG Organizing Committee for the meeting with members of the board of WCBS. We are waiting for the answer. I would like to present them the progres in the preparations for World Games and show the sport facilities in Wroclaw' siad Marcin Krzeminski.
Tomasz Kaplan (Nosan Kielce) won the International Championships of Poland in Carom – 3 cushions. The event took place in Ketrzyn on 14 – 15th March 2015. 30 players from Poland and Lithuania took part in the competition.
'20 years later'- these words were the slogan of the friendly match between the teams of Poland and Lithuania which took place in Ketrzyn (Poland) on 13th March. Poland won 4:2 but the score was not the most important thing.
III Polish Pyramid Championships took place in Contact Kielce Billiard Centre on the 8 February. Players from Kielce, Krakow, Tomaszow Mazowiecki, Radom, Jedrzejow and Debica joined the competition. Jan Nieweglowski from Idoslubu.pl Kielce became the winner.
The World Confederation of Billiard Sports has engaged heavily in working on a bid for inclusion in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
The host city in Japan will be able to accept at least one sport as an addition to the list approved at the International Olympic Committee's extraordinary general meeting in Monaco last year. The WCBS have this week submitted a bid outlining their case as to why billiards sports should be part of the programme for 2020 Tokyo.
" I'm very happy, that cue sports back to game. Today, we have a chance to chanage our sport status. One sport will be add only. I hope, that Japan will open a new page in our history" said Marcin Krzemiński .
IWGA President Perurena: Birmingham, USA, to be Host City of The World Games 2021
The World Games 2021 will take place in Birmingham/Alabama/USA. This decision was announced by José Perurena, President of the International World Games Association, at noon on Thursday, 22 January 2015, at a press conference in the Mövenpick Hotel in Lausanne.
During its meetings on Wednesday the IWGA Executive Committee had made a final assessment of the Bids from Birmingham (USA), Lima (Peru) and Ufa (Russia), and evaluated the delegations’ final presentations. The IWGA Executive Board took the final decision on the host city for the 11th edition of this multi-sports event at its meeting on Thursday morning.
This announcement is subject to successful negotiation of contractual conditions, and subsequent confirmation by the IWGA‘s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in April 2015. The agreement with the next host city will be signed right after the AGM. The 10th edition of The World Games will be staged in 2017 in Wroclaw Poland. The IWGA flag will be handed over to the representatives of Birmingham during the closing ceremony in Wroclaw on 30 July 2017.
Dieter Johns (USA) won the first tournament of EEBC Pyramid Tour 2015 series. The competition took place in Germering (Germany) on 17 – 18 January 2015. 32 players from 10 countries (USA, Germany, Turkey, Spain, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Rep., Bulgaria, Russia and Italy) joined the tournament.
