The player of Konsalnet Warsaw – Wojciech Szewczyk became the first leader of the Dynamic Best of the East 2013 cycle. The tournament was played in Kielce.

In a final match Szewczyk defeated Marek Kudlik from LP Metal Fach Sokolka 6:4. Michał Lichodziejewski from BandaClub Wroclaw and Karol Skowerski from Nosan – Galeria Echo Kielce got the third place.

85 sportsmen from Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine and Bulgaria were registered in the tournament. Y. Novosad and V. Patsure had to come back home after 5 hours long standby at the airport in Kiev. The flight to Katowice was cancelled due to intensive snowfall and they were not able to take part in a competition. Another few players did not arrive to the venue too and eventually 77 athletes played their matches. The defeat in group qualifications of Polish Champion – Konrad Piekarski, Bulgarian Champion – Stanimir Ruslanov, and players as experienced as David Zalman and Adam Houdek from Czech Republic should be considered as a surprise. Amongst the foreign guests only Cristea Ovidiu from Romania and Marek Hajdovski from Czech Republic get to the next stage. Ovidiu was stopped by Michal Lichodziejewski (0:6). Hajdovski defeated Patryk Statkiewicz (6:3) but then lost with Marek Kudlik (3:6) and did not reach the quarterfinal. “I didn’t have a good break and Marek played very well” said sportsman from Czech. It is worth to mention that in qualification Hajdovski was better than Tomasz Kaplan (5:2).

The winner of Polish 10-Ball had a tough job along his way to final. He won with Pawel Kaczmarek (6:4), Radoslaw Babica (6:3), Mateusz Sniegocki (6:4) and Michal Lichodziejewski in a semifinal (6:5). Lichodziejewski, who came back after a long break, has shown us a very good billiard. In game with Szewczyk he had only one bad strike (ball no 5). Unfortunately it happened in a decisive part.

Marek Kudlik during his way to final eliminated Sebastain Batkowski (6:2), M. Hajdovski (6:3), Mieszko Fortunski (6:5) and Karol Skowerski (6:3). “The most difficult was the match I played with Mieszko – then I should have dropped out from the competition. He needed only one break and he mistook striking an easy ball” concluded Kudlik.

The beginning of the final match was better for the representative of LP Metal Fach Sokolka. Kudlik was leading 3:1. But Szewczyk was not going to lose and took an advantage after the foul of his opponent and eventually won 6:4. Congratulations for all medalists and great thanks for the tournament staff and referees – Ziemowit Janaszek, Marek Karlikowski, Edward Janaszek and Jan Niewiadomski. We would like to thank Michal Turkowski for making available Fokus Club and Emil Paliwoda and Michal Kozlowski for live broadcasting.
