On wednesday in Sudak registration and drawing of the Pyramid World Cup were completed and all participants knew their opponents the day before tournament. 92 men and 34 women were attended in this tournament.

Among the most interesting matches of the early stages of the tournament, we note a game between Sergei Petrash and defending world champion Yaroslav Vinokur. Yaroslav didn't have a serious game practice for almost 5 months. His last appearance on the official tournament was at the end of April, when he played in the TAATA Bank Cup. However Jaroslav were still among the favorites of the tournament.

Another interesting Ukrainian couple in the 2nd round were Vadim Koryagin and Adrian Mishchenko. However, in the lower half of the chart it was not the most interesting confrontation of the second round. On the first place were the meeting between Yaroslav “Tornado” Tarnovetsky and the world champion in “Combined pyramid” Alexander Chepikov. Just one place below was a match between Pavel Radionov and Andrey Osminin from Rostov, the younger brother of famous Russian player Vladislav Osminin, who didn’t come to Sudak. This year Osminin Jr. became the champion of Russia among pupils, so he was very interesting to be watched. Winner of this match by the way was going to be the next opponent of the vice- champion of the world and winner of "Longoni" Cup 2012 Armen Gabrielyan, and it was also one of the top matches of the second round.

And in the first round the most interesting battle was a meeting between Arthur Pivchenko and Einar Zamaleev – two young (Einar and Arthur are almost absolute same age, both born in 1991, and both have a birthday in October) and extremely talented athletes.
