The third stage of the World Cup of Pyramid in Sudak (Ukraine) has finished with unexpected results.

Despite the fact that in the men's tournament five strongest ukrainian players reached the quarterfinals, none of them managed to reach the final game. It was a great surprise that young 14-year-old belarusian player Denis Kolosov won tough games with much more experienced players, such as Maksim Kolyzhuk and Dmitry Belozerov.

But in the final match his opponent, last year vice-champion of the World in the "Free pyramid" Armen Gabrielyan, were just a little bit more self-confident and determined to win.

Armenian player led the game from the start and fastly made the score 2-0 in his favor. But Kolosov, playing his traditional calm manner, equalized the chances - 2-2. Then 3-3, 4-4 - opponents were party to the party, but Denis Kolosov always found himself in the role of a follower. After all, Armen managed to increase the gap and finished the match in the 12th frame. Final score is 7-5, and it's a victory for Gabrielyan!

In the women's tournament gold medal also didn't remain in Ukraine. Anna Kotlyar from Kiev has once again demonstrated the growing level of play in the semifinals after beating strong russian player Natalia Korneva. But in the stressful final Anna has lost to another russian player - Polina Jaroshevich from Voronezh - 3-4. Nevertheless, congratulations to Anna Kotlyar, her family and friends with these good result!
