Meeting with a snooker

Marcin Krzeminski - the President of EBC met the presidents of world's snooker. The meeting took place in Sofia during IBSF World Championships. International Billiard & Snooker Federation was choosing its board in Bulgaria.

1000 of amateurs

Mateusz Robinski from Hades Poznan Club became the best amateur billiard player. 224 people participated in the final tournament which took place in Lodz.

Championships for amateurs have been organized in Poland since 2002. 5 times during a year clubs run the local qualifications to loom the best players who will start in a final. In this year's edition organized by Polish Billiard Association around 1000 people were calssified. Billiard Sport Amateur Challenge is the biggest in the world event which takes place every year.

The championships of Russia took place, as usually, at the end of the year. Players competed in 4 game variants, separately men and women.

The next tournament in Ostrava

The next international billiard tournament took place in Black Pool Club in Ostrava. 80 players took part in this event. Mateusz Sniegocki (PL) defeated Marc Bijsterbosh (NL) in the final match and became the winner. The third place got Marek Derek (PL) and Alex Lely (NL). The tournament in Czech Republic was played due to the initiative and activity of T. Onderek. Congratulations !!!

Women ended the season

The first, after a break, season of women’s competition has ended. As a result of the initiative of Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Estonia and Slovakia, EPBF resumed the cycle of the tournaments for women.

129 ladies took part in the cycle. Natalia Sireoshtan from Russia became the winner (3.197 pts). Second place went to Caroline Roos from Sweden (3.161 pts) and the third place to Sandra Baumgartner from Austria (2.849 pts). 5 women from Eastern Europe, beside the winner, got to the best 16: Anna Mizhirina (Russia) – 5th place (2.710 pts), Katarzyna Wesolowska (Poland) – 9th place (2.253 pts), Ana Gradisnik (Slovenia) – 11th place (2.183 pts) and Oliwia Czuprynska (Poland) – 12th place (2.120 pts). Ladies were collecting their points during 8 tournaments including 3 European Championships.

Women competition was canceled few years ago due to the economical issues. We didn’t have to wait long for the results. None of ladies from Europe was able to equally compete in prstigious, international tournaments beside Jasmin Ouschan and those who immigrated to USA. It is time now to fix the damages caused by the wrong decision.

Bridge to career

EPBF is inviting for a new tournament giving a chance for sport career for people born between 01.01.1989 and 31.12.1994. As the tournament is a result of the initiative of a group of billiard federations from Eastern Europe which was sent to EPBF in 2011, we invite to active participation.

Mateusz Sniegocki (POL) in pool billiard and Yevgeny Stalev (RUS) and Diana Mironova (RUS) in pyramid became the winners of the great tournament Kremlin Cup played in Moscow.

As in previous years, this time again participants were surprised by the organizers who prepared a wonderful event scenery.  50 tables set on a pitch of the Olympic Stadium and huge banners were really impressive. What is more the musical program, announcements and big group of spectators all together made one of the greatest billiard events in the world. The prize money of 120.000 USD was divided in following way: 50.000 USD – pool billiard, 50.000 USD - pyramid – men’s division and 20.000 USD – pyramid - women’s division.

2012 Dynamic Best of the East – time for summary

259 players from 15 countries participated in 2012 Dynamic Best of the East. Karol Skowerski (POL) became the winner of the general ranking. He collected 160 points more than Radoslaw Babica (POL) and 165 points more than Mariusz Skoneczny (POL).

Wojciech Trajdos - back in the game

Only he knows how complicated and twisted his sports career has been. He was the first Polish player who won Euro Tour. Twice was punished after positive anti-doping tests. Wojciech Trajdos after a long break showed his skills and won Dynamic Best of the East.
