Miachal Gavenciak - multiple champion of Czech Republic became the winner of the tournament - Grand Prix Brno.

65 players from 5 countries took part in the competition organized by Krystian Walach. The GP Brno tournament started at the turn of 1999 and 2000. After the first edition there was a break lasting till 2006. The event organized in this year was a jubilee - players met for the 10th time.

"65 players from 5 countries, including the top players of Czech Republic and Slovakia, attended the Grand Prix Brno 9-ball in Czech Republic in October 2012, to struggle for a prize money of 85.000 CZK and a set of exceptionally nice cups. Out of 10 groups round robin on Saturday 32 players succeeded to the shortened double-KO on Sunday, including two of only 4 players from Poland. Surprising was the loss of two of the best Czech players, Marek Hajdovský and David Žalman, in the first round of the KO, being defeated by Slovak players. One of the most exciting matches was the semifinal Dominik Zając (PL) – Michal Gavenčiak (CZ), beeing decided by some safes at the very last game. At the final Jakub Koniar (SK), who beat Rene Daubner (SK) 9:7 in a similar hard match, was not able to defend himself, and so Michal Gavenčiak, since many years the best Czech poolbilliard player, won 9:4, gaining 25.000 CZK and the biggest cup. For a HW failure some of the matches, including the KO-part of the tournament, were not recorded, sorry..." said Krystian Walach.
