Karol Skowerski and Radoslaw Babica won today in the qualification event for WPA 8-Ball Championship 2012.

They appeared to be the best two among 27 players from Poland, Ukraine and Slovakia.

In the last matches we could see:

P. Kudlik (POL)48W. Szewczyk (POL)
A. Koshevoy (UKR)58R. Babica (POL)
M. Skoneczny (POL)68M. Turkowski (POL)
K. Skowerski (POL)87D. Zając (POL)

In the semi-final game (M.Skowerski vs M.Turkowski) Skowerski was the leader from the very beginning of the game. He proved it winning 8:5. Second competing pair was R.Babica and W.Szewczyk - their game was rather dramatic. Radoslaw Babica was quite self-confident when leading 7:1. Simple mistake right before the final shot - this was the moment when Babica made the mistake. Szewczyk decided no to give up so quickly and focused on the next balls...racks..We could see the score - 7:5. Another ball not pocketed and the score went to 7:6. Next break performed by Babica seemed to be successful till the last ball - unfortunately for the second time - he missed the shotl. Szewczyk also did not manage to pocket the one - the position was difficult, requiring masse shot. Babica approached the table and hit the ball correctly placing the white ball in the center of the table. As the middle pocket was blocked by opponent's ball - he could only place the 8-ball in the corner pocket and that is what he did. It was a hard moment for Wojtek - who definitely deserves our congratulations bacause of his high stress tolerance.

Many thanks to Break club for hosting the players.
